CONSERVATION

Leading the fight to protect North Dakota's fish and wildlife, wild lands

and waters, and public access to the outdoors

WILDLIFE

North Dakota is blessed with an abundance of fish and wildlife. But the pressures have never been greater: diseases, invasive species, pollution and habitat fragmentation threaten our populations of fish and wildlife. NDWF works to keep game abundant, sportfish plentiful, and nongame species from becoming endangered.

HABITAT

Fish and wildlife depend on good habitat. NDWF works to protect habitat on our national forests, grasslands and other public lands through smart land management and conservation of wild lands and waters.  We also work to protect habitat on private lands by supporting voluntary incentives for farmers, ranchers, and other landowners.

LAND ACCESS

North Dakota has some of the best outdoor resources in the nation. NDWF works to protect public access and hunting opportunity for everyone, not just special interests. Some of the best hunting and fishing is on private lands.  That is why NDWF supports programs that aid landowners who protect and allow access to these habitats, including "Ask Before You Enter" signs

YOUTH OUTDOOR PROGRAMS

In order to insure that our outdoor heritage and traditions persist, it’s important that we engage the next generation of hunters and anglers. Youth fishing days, mentored hunts, and outdoor educational workshops are just some of the many ways NDWF and our affiliates get youth actively engaged in the outdoors.  NDWF also provides financial support for high school shooting sports programs.

BOOTS ON THE GROUND

The North Dakota Wildlife Federation provides opportunities for habitat projects across the state. Our members work on the ground with private landowners, the Department of Fish and Game, and other agencies to enhance habitat, increase access, and protect wildlife.
